Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.  He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge.  His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

Psalm 91:3-4

HOW TO PREPARE AND PACKAGE PSALM 91 BANDANAS

You will want the bandana to be finished as a square with the start of Psalm 91on the face of the final fold.  Fold in half, in half again, in half again and in half again until you have the square.  Be sure the Psalm 91 is on the face of the final fold. We want our soldiers to see that first. Place the bandana into the ziplock bag, Psalm 91 showing.  On the blank side of the bandana, insert OpBan’s poem card, if you order them, or your own card/note.  Please be careful not to place the card over the Psalm.

OpBan uses sandwich size ziplocks.  Ziplock brand and Glad brand seem to be the best fit.  You can get the less expensive baggies, but for some reason, even though it says they are the same size, the generic brands don’t always zip well.  Quart size bags take up too much space when mailing a large quantity.  Be sure and press all the air out of the baggie as you seal it, or leave a little piece not sealed for the air to release.  You want to be able to put as many bandanas in a box as possible, not a bunch of air.

If you use OpBan’s poem cards, you can add notes to the back of the card, draw pictures, etc.  If your group actually purchased the bandanas, in addition to packaging them, you may want to put a label with the name and address of your church or group who personally provided them, ie “Lovingly provided by…”  If you are volunteering to package them and haven’t actually purchased them, you can add “Lovingly provided by numerous individuals and churches; lovingly packaged by (name of group/church.)”

This is for the volunteers who package hundreds of bandanas at a time for OpBan:  Once folded and packaged, please rubber band ten together, with the rubber band running from the sealed top down.

Once complete we have the privilege and joy of then praying over them.  Pray that the bandanas will draw many to Jesus and bring blessing, comfort, strength and protection through the power of God’s word.  I like to have everyone lay their hands on them as they pray and try to envision the soldier who will be receiving it.

May you be encouraged and blessed also knowing you will be reminding our young men and women in uniform of God’s presence with them; and quite possibly you could be helping make a kingdom difference in the lives of many serving so courageously.

Thank you for partnering in supporting and encouraging our troops with a piece of God’s armor.

For Him,

Mary Gray
