Mrs. Obama,
Please accept this Psalm 91 bandana from Operation
Bandanas to be given to your husband as the Commander in Chief of our Armed
Forces. As we send these out to our Soldiers,
Sailors, Airmen, and Marines, our hope is that the words of this Psalm, which
is a Psalm of protection, will be a reminder to them of God’s presence with
them and His protection over them. We
pray and hope that our President, as he daily makes decisions that affect our
service men and women and their families, in addition to our entire nation and
the world, will be blessed and covered by God’s words of strength, courage,
comfort, and protection.
As I go around speaking to churches and
organizations, I am always conscious of the fact that, in spite of all that our
military does for us, many do not give the continued sacrifices they make much
thought. I am quick to remind them that
these are the sons and daughters of America, and that although you may not feel
personally connected to them or know anyone serving, they do not know you
either. In spite of that, they are
willing to take a bullet, lose a limb, or die for you. As citizens of the greatest country on earth,
we all should be serving our nation in some capacity. These particular young men and women have
chosen to serve our nation in the uniform of our Armed Forces. I pray our nation keeps them and their
families foremost in our thoughts and prayers and support and encourage them in
every way possible.
Thank you for your service and your husband’s service
in the highest office of the land, as President and First Lady of our
country. What an awesome privilege,
opportunity and responsibility.
God bless you and President Obama, give you wisdom, direct
your steps, and keep you in the palm of His protective hand.
Mary Gray, Executive Director
